The eleven cholera patients recently admitted at Naguru and Mulago isolation wards have all been discharged after positively responding to treatment.
Last week, the ministry of Health announced an outbreak a cholera in Kampala city and Wakiso district. This was after seven people in Kawempe exhibited symptoms of the disease. The seven were taken to Naguru hospital.
Cholera is an infection of the small intestine by a bacterium vibrio cholera and if not treated can lead to death. The most common symptoms are watery diarrhoea, vomiting and muscle cramps.
